Roof Wash RW400

MAXIMUM OPERATING PRESSURE: 200 BAR

The Roof wash must first be adjusted to suit the roof profile to be cleaned. To facilitate this the wheel track can be adjusted by loosening the grub screws and sliding the locking collars in or out along the axle to reposition the wheels.

After moving the wheels ensure that the grub screws are fully tightened in the new position.

The height of the rotor can also be adjusted using the slots in the axle plates. When adjusting the height ensure that the unit does not come into contact with the highest points of the roof panel profile or the fixing screws.

Connect the high-pressure wash water hose to the connection point on the unit. The hose must terminate in a 3/8” BSP female cone seat fitting. Do not attempt to connect any other type of fitting, as it will not seal correctly.

Take care to consider the nature and condition of the roofing material and select a nozzle size and angle that will not cause damage it or any coatings.

The load bearing capacity of the roof must be determined before any attempt is made to access it.

Ensure that the roof can be accessed safely and make sure that any control measures arising from your risk assessment are in place.

Attach a safety rope to the Roof Wash that can be attached to a suitable anchorage point to prevent it falling off the edge.

Place the unit on the roof near the ridge and fix the safety rope to a suitable anchorage point.

Make sure that operators are suitably secured to prevent them falling from the roof.

Ensure that the wheels are aligned with the roof sheet profile and that the rotor jets

are pointing downwards. Never attempt to run the rotor with the unit upside down and the jets exposed.

Turn on the high-pressure pump. This will cause the rotor to start rotating and

cleaning the surface below.

Slowly lower the unit towards the eaves using the high-pressure hose and it will clean

a band of the roof as it moves. The speed at which it needs to be lowered will be determined by experience, the nature of the roof material and level of soiling.

If necessary the Roof Wash can be drawn back up slowly for a second cleaning pass or rapidly if the first pass was sufficient.

Stop the pump and move the unit to the next roof section and repeat the washing cycle.
